Which Seattle bouldering projects are you most excited to see in 2018?

Seattle’s famous boulder fields are home to some of the most beautiful and varied bouldering on Earth.

And it’s not hard to see why.

From its rocky, granite-strewn edges, the fields can be seen as the ultimate playground for all sorts of shapes and sizes, from tiny, baby-sized rock climbers to towering, tree-shaking boulders.

But one of the more unique projects that has sprung up in the Seattle area is a project called Hazel, a 5,500-foot, 2,000-foot-tall, 10-foot wide, 1,000 square-foot “tiger house” that’s being built by the Seattle-based rock climbing company Rockworks.

The Hazel project is a massive undertaking, requiring hundreds of hours of labor, and Rockworks has hired a crew of more than 100 workers, including a crew that has been climbing in the area since December.

But there’s also a lot of love for the project, from the boulders themselves, to the team members and the local rock climbers who have contributed to it.
